Automation Now Supports Webhooks
Notion now supports webhooks in Automation. A webhook can be thought of as a communication channel between different applications — it allows you to automatically send custom information to a specified URL whenever a particular event occurs.

Additionally, Button previously didn't have as many features as Automation. With this update, Button now also supports sending custom notifications to email or webhooks after being clicked (triggered).

Other Updates
1. Image Loading Speed Optimization
Notion has significantly optimized image upload and loading speeds. Whether uploading or loading images while scrolling, speeds have improved by at least 30%.

2. New Column Command
Notion has added a new column layout command /col. You can now use /2c, /3c, or /col to invoke this command.

3. Windows Can Now Be Dragged
The Notion desktop client now lets you drag tabs out to create independent windows.

2025 Update Preview
Notion is testing more advanced permission management features.
Currently, Notion's permission hierarchy is quite shallow — you can only set access permissions at the level of an "entire page" or an "entire database." In this scenario, if you want someone to only access a specific page within a database, you have to go into that page and manually add them as a "Guest," which is quite cumbersome.
However, Notion has started working on improving this feature and may add "page permissions" as a field within databases. For example, if you want to grant someone access to a specific database page, you would simply invite them in that page's "Permission" field.
This feature is still in the evaluation and testing phase, and the release date is unknown. Hopefully we'll see it soon, and here's to Notion bringing even more useful features in the new year.
