Where Did Notion's Database Totals Go? Calculation Location Change Explained

Notion moved database calculations from the table footer to the field settings menu. Click any field name to find calculation options including count, percentage, and more.

Reader Question

How do I see the totals in the new version of Notion databases? There used to be a summary row at the bottom, but it's gone now.

My Answer

Notion has moved database calculations into the field settings. Here's how to find them:

  1. Click the field name you want to calculate (e.g., the "Number" field)

  1. Find the "Calculate" option in the dropdown menu
  2. Choose the calculation you need (Count, Percentage, or more options)

Once configured, the calculation result displays right next to the field name — no more scrolling to the bottom of the table.
