Agent has complete database capabilities

I can give simple instructions to let Agent create a database. Within 30 seconds, it helps me create one with complete fields and classification views based on different fields.

I can tell Agent my weight, eating habits, exercise preferences, etc., and then let it help me create a weight loss guide and make a reasonable fitness plan with a database.

And since it's an Agent, it must have multi-turn conversation and reasoning capabilities. If you're not satisfied, you can make more requests, such as adding an [Exercise Library] field to the fitness plan, then preset various fitness options in the field; or adding a new [Intake Trend] view, adding a [Diet Plan] view, etc., until it adjusts to your satisfaction.

In addition to creating and editing databases, Agent can also query and ask questions facing the entire database. For example, I can ask my "Task Management Database": What tasks did I complete in August 2025?

But from Notion team's perspective, knowledge work is never an individual matter but a "team sport". Therefore, they gave Notion Agent the ability of customized permissions for team collaboration and silent background automated execution, that is, Custom Agents.

The Personal Agent introduced earlier has permission scope of all your information, interacts with you personally, and only executes and responds when you initiate a request.

While Custom Agent can limit Agent's information access scope in advance and share it with team users, allowing team members to interact and collaborate with your customized information through Agent within a limited scope (or more accurate information scope).

And more importantly, Custom Agent can execute regularly and automatically in the background.

For example, you can create a "Company Bylaws Database", then use Custom Agents capability to create a "Company Bylaws Q&A Assistant", then share it with your team members. This way, when members have questions within a specific scope, they can ask this Agent, and it can retrieve corresponding information from the database based on the question to answer.
