Notion Template Design Philosophy - How FLO.W Helps You Build a Reliable Second Brain

Discover why FLO.W was created: a Notion template designed to combat information overload, free your mind from clutter, and help you focus on meaningful thinking and creation.

What does a typical knowledge worker face every day? WeChat, Lark, and DingTalk constantly ringing; leaders scheduling meetings at any time; colleagues asking for data from last week; daily reports that require effort to fabricate a bunch of encrypted communications. After work, you want to teach yourself AI for a side hustle, and also need to find time to read, learn, watch shows, play games, and date - every task feels important, but you don't know what to do first, so you scroll through your phone to temporarily put aside all worries.

All of the above reflects my own experience. Over the years, this has become the driving force for my testing of various note-taking software. Initially, I researched this for personal interest, but later I treated it as a life project: could I find the most suitable tool for everyone, and then solve problems related to efficiency improvement, learning advancement, workflow building, and knowledge management?

This Template is a phased achievement after 4 years of my note-taking software reviews. Our goal is certainly not to learn how to use a specific tool, nor should we treat time management as the primary goal. What I believe is truly important is being able to find a set of methods and workflows that suit you, so that whether you're using Lark, Siyuan, Obsidian, or Apple Notes, or the newly launched FLO.W all-in-one Template, it can help you build a reliable second brain, allowing you to focus on truly important thinking and creation.

The fastest way for any productivity tool to deliver value is to use it to clear today's memory burden - that is, to record things you can't or don't want to forget right now in the simplest way possible with this tool, and then go do what you should be doing, because you no longer need to worry about forgetting. What runs counter to improving efficiency is actually spending too much time researching and imagining how much benefit productivity tools can bring you. Although this statement may discourage the majority of users who might purchase my Template on impulse, this ultimately represents my true perspective on tools. I don't intend to lie, and my Template will not have designs that are superficial and only increase anxiety.
